We offer a range of STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Art & Mathematics) themes sessions for age groups 5-12, 12-18 and 18+, have a look at what we offer below and then check out the availability of each session on our booking calendar.
S T E A M for 5-12
These STEAM activities are aimed at youngsters aged 5-12 and it is mandatory that a parent or responsible adult participate and supervise the youngster attending.
SUPERNature
Age 5-12
A fun session using microscopes to explore nature, looking closely at samples including prepared specimens and visiting nearby natural sites to explore outdoors.
MAKE>DO
Age 5-12
A self design & build session for youngsters using the MakeDO safe tools with cardboard to create projects, structures & costumes.
ASSEMBLE
Age 5-12
Build sessions for youngsters using a variety of build systems including wooden blocks, pegs, clasps, bricks, city models and virtual construction systems like TinkerCAD.
LEGO Play
Age 5-12
An after school LEGO session for youngsters to let their imagination build using classic lego blocks & design challenges.
BUZZ Club
Age 5-12+
Fortnightly sessions exploring the world of the honey bee, learning about their life cycle, habits and seeing them up close using microscopes and apiary visits.
4D
Age 5-12
A fun session using flashcards and iPads to explore Augmented Relity activities and themes including space, ocean, human body and dinosaurs.
MARINE RESCUE
Age 5-12
Join us for an exciting, hands-on marine rescue experience with Sam, a marine biologist and Marine Mammal Medic with British Divers Marine Life Rescue.
Sam will guide the children through a fun and educational mock marine mammal rescue, giving them a chance to step into the role of real-life rescuers.
This interactive session is a fantastic opportunity for kids to learn about marine life, conservation, and how we can help protect our ocean animals—while having lots of fun along the way!
NOTE - Both sessions will have the same experiences and content. To allow more young people to attend this event, only one session booking should be made.

INVERCLYDE YOUNG SKYWATCHERS
Age 8-18
A monthly gathering of youngsters exploring and learning together about the wonders of the night sky, the science of space and the universe using the latest digital telescopes and computer software.

Age 12-18+
An artist led session focusing on recording still life objects and taking inspiration from centuries of scientific illustration.
GAMES + GEEKS
Age 14+
A weekly safe inclusive space for people who love all things alternative! We will have board games, comics, lego and some creative materials. Bring your own RPG and other games, models to paint, anime, graphic novels, and ideas. No charge but booking necessary.
HOME Education Hub
Age 8-18
Our home education hub welcomes families educating at home. It's a relaxed session using a variety of STEM Equipment across a range of age groups. A chance for families to meet, swap notes and organise educational activities.
ROBOTIKS for beginners

Learn about robotics and how they interact with coding using SCRATCH.
GRAFIK

Learn about Graphic Design and use our Risograph & Screen Printer to create a posters as part of your learning process.
CODING

Learn about coding using SCRATCH and the Microbit Controller on introductory projects that build your coding experience step by step towards C, C++ and Python coding.

Weekday morning 'coffee house' session for co-working, bring your laptop, grab a coffee and settled down to work or meet a friend for chat in a bright and warm environment.

Human Skills for a Digital Age
Interactive workshops exploring the human skills that help us listen well, understand different perspectives, and relate thoughtfully in a digital age. Through practical exercises and guided conversation, participants explore attention, presence and relational intelligence and develop simple practices that strengthen connection and collaboration in everyday life.
Participants are welcome to attend individual sessions or both.
GROW+
Age 18+
Weekly session for adults who want to learn more about community gardening, growing your own, propagating and harvesting. Mixture of indoors sessions and community garden work outdoors.
2D FAB for Beginners
Age 18+
Laser cutting is a highly precise and versatile method of cutting various materials, from wood to plastics to metals. Laser cutting is widely used in industries such as manufacturing, aerospace, and automotive, as well as in DIY and artistic projects.
These sessions will give you the opportunity to develop some designs and learn about the settings used for laser cutting various materials.
3D FAB for Beginners
Age 18+
3D printing has the power to transform the way we create, manufacture, and innovate. But what exactly is 3D printing, and how does it work? In these beginner's sessions to 3D printing, we will embark on a journey to uncover 3D printing. We'll delve into its history, and explore its various types. Along the way, we'll also examine the different 3D printing processes, discover the wide-ranging applications and introduce software that power this transformative technology.
CAD>CAM for Beginners
Age 18+
This is a relaxed session over a cuppa for peer to peer learning of (CAD) Computer Aided Design and (CAM) Computer Aided Manufacturing software associated with laser cutting and CNC machines.
You can bring your own laptop, free WIFI.

We are a group specialising in Gaelic work songs, particularly those sung by women while waulking the tweed. Our name, Sgioba Luaidh Inbhirchluaidh, means "Inverclyde Waulking Group".

A small, friendly group of amateur creative writers meeting 6-8pm on the first Wednesday of every month to connect, share writing, get feedback and learn from each other. A range of experience from beginner to published, working in a positive environment helping each other.

The Womens Wellbeing Collective
Age 18+
'The Womens Wellbeing Collective is a peer-led community network dedicated to improving the mental, physical, and social wellbeing of women in Inverclyde. We provide a collaborative platform, both in-person and online, where women can meet, share skills, and lead their own interest-based 'wellbeing circles.' By fostering connection and empowerment, we aim to reduce social isolation and ensure every woman has the tools and voice to lead a healthy, fulfilled life.
We have a monthly capacity-building workshop and weekly activity-focused circles.

STEMatters - Making sense of science
Age 25+
STEMatters is a fortnightly session over 8 weeks, designed to help adults make sense of science in a relaxed and supportive environment. The focus is to build confidence within a group setting; broaden knowledge across a variety of STEM topics; provide a springboard for further exploration and learning in science; and to support participants to help children/grandchildren with learning and educational choices.
